I got this book last year from my uncle for Christmas. He met the author and got it signed just for me. After reading this book I am upset it took me this long to get around to read it. I absolutely loved it. It grabs you from the first page until the last.
Melody is not like most people. She cannot walk or talk, but she has a photographic memory; she can remember every detail of everything she has ever experienced. She is smarter than most of the adults who try to diagnose her and smarter than her classmates in her integrated classroom – the very same classmates who dismiss her as mentally challenged because she cannot tell them otherwise. But Melody refuses to be defined by cerebral palsy. And she’s determined to let everyone know it – somehow.
This book was absolutely amazing and makes me want Melody’s mind! She is incredibly smart and fights through trials she is given. I think this is an amazing read and it is definitely something that should be handed to a kid to read! I give it a solid five out of five stars!
