Aurora Rising

I really liked this book. I had been holding off on reading it for a while. I can see the flaws in this book that most people probably hated like the fact the Alpha is shown as a pair of dimples throughout the book. A lot of times instead of focusing on his knowledge that is claimed in parts of the book they just put he smiles with full dimples on display like that gets people everywhere. I will give them props for the twist with Cat but taking her out of the team seems a little harsh. She wasn’t my favorite character but I didn’t hate her towards the end. I have a feeling she makes a come back though. Something in my gut maybe.

I have to say of all the characters I think I like Fin the most. Fin draws me in with the hints of bisexuality and his sarcasm. Sarcasm is my superpower if you know me personally. All in all I really liked the book. I really wish there was more science fiction in young adult I can read. I probably haven’t found them yet right?

My only parting words to this are that I loved the Illuminae series a lot more. Maybe that will change with Aurora Burning.

Five out of five stars!

The Darkest Minds

It is three am EST and I am writing this blog post with tears in my eyes. I need a warning label put on books that are going to rip your heart open and stomp on it at the end. Thank whatever god I can think of that I started this series when the next book is already out because I could not do the waiting game on this!

So basically in this book the children start dying off suddenly and the ones that survive have supernatural abilities. I think there were five different groups? And the survivors go through some tough crap. Well, adventures happen and suddenly we have this HEARTBREAKING ENDING! Like I need to understand! I need the second book stat!

This book gets a five out of five all the way!

I was so happy to be able to read this series back to back. This series is one of my favorite series! I kept seeing on Instagram the first two books leading up to the release of the third book. It intrigued me so I went to Goodreads to read the synopsis. I read the books and shoved them to my significant just so I could talk to him about them.

The end of this book makes me think there will be a fourth book. I can honestly say I really hope so! Each character was different from the next and brought something to the table. Keeping up with six characters was made simple in the layout of this book. The way this book looked like documents compiled together was refreshing. The storyline was different and kept me in the book at every corner.

I fully recommend this series to anyone that likes science fiction. Heck I would recommend it even if you don’t usually read science fiction!

Five out of five stars! 🙂

So I raved about Illuminae and I can honestly say this book was an amazing second book to the series. I would not recommend if you don’t like multiple viewpoints in a story. If you can deal with that READ THIS SERIES! I am currently moving on to Obsidio to finish it off.

I love the characters and science fiction is usually not my thing but this series has drawn me in and kept me. I love the viewpoints of all of the characters. I love the different style of the book. Like they compiled documents into a book to tell the story. I got these books from the library to read and plan to buy the series asap. 🙂

5 out of 5 stars!!

Bring a box of tissues and sit down for one of the best books of your life! This book was something I decided to read because I kept seeing it on Bookstagram. Well, algoahkhtpaf WHY? This book was absolutely heart wrenching and amazing. Now that the trilogy is complete do NOT think I will not get the box set. This series is not my life until I finish it.

I love the characters and I like that the butthole in charge dies because he needed to. I don’t care what anyone says I didn’t like him. The format of the book is different as well which kept my interest and probably had me looking funny some days. This book is a recommendation 10/10. I loved it and I have already started on the second book in the series.
